Summary: The Director, Program Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Program Operations team and partnering closely with program teams to effectively manage budgets, financial projections, staffing, and organizational resources. The Director provides direct guidance and support to staff and program leaders on project financial management, budget development, forecasting, resource allocation, and operational planning. This position supervises Program Operations staff, helps coordinate team priorities and workloads, and ensures timely and consistent delivery of financial and operational support across the organization’s portfolio of programs and awards. The Director works closely with the Senior Director, Program Operations, Finance, Grants and Contracts, and program leadership to identify financial risks and opportunities, improve business processes, and ensure resources are aligned with programmatic priorities, organizational goals, and funder requirements.

Anticipated salary: $97,100 Extended experience: up to $113,800 if experience exceeds expectations
Principal Functions:
- Assesses the financial performance of the organizations’ program budgets, providing regular updates, insights, and actionable recommendations to executive leadership
- Oversees profit and loss status of operations, working closely with leadership to strategize on improving bottom-line performance
- Leads and supervises staff to complete business planning activities across the company’s portfolio, ensuring efficient utilization of funds
- Manages the budgeting, submission, and business planning processes for new funding submissions, driving financial efficiency and performance
- Forecasts workforce activity and manage cost projections, identifying areas with overages or deficits, and providing scenario-based guidance to unit & division leads
- Refines practices for generating revenue through external contracts
- Provides guidance to programmatic teams, ensure project activities are compliant with federal rules & regulations, add value, and contribute to revenue generation for the organization
- Leads initiatives cross functionally that contribute to the organization’s long-term financial health
- Leads the development and enhancement of ERP systems to increase functionality and utility, including customized reports, dashboards, and improved data visualization
- Drives process improvements & develop SOPs that enhance operational efficiencies in conjunction with compliance to audit and funder requirements
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of prior experience administering grants
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage teams and complex projects
- Extensive experience in financial management, business planning, and budgeting
- Expertise in ERP systems and data visualization tools
- Track record of improving revenue generation and bottom-line performance
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of principles and practices of federal grants administration, including familiarity with OMB Uniform Grant Guidance and experience using Grants.gov preferred
- Knowledge of HHS cooperative agreement regulations and guidelines preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel
