Senior Analyst, Leadership Development

Department: LEADERSHIP AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Location: Arlington, VA

Summary:  The Senior Analyst, for Leadership Development will provide support for ASTHOís leadership programs including the Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health, Strengthening Equity and Partnerships in State Public Health Response and promotion of additional leadership development activities. 

Principal Functions:

  • Support project management of the Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health (DELPH) program
  • Support project management and coordinate the learning circles for the Strengthening Equity and Partnerships in State Public Health Response project
  • Serve as the teamís primary contact for tracking and evaluating capacity building and technical assistance products. 
  • Oversee scheduling and implementation of leadership assessments, executive coaching and leadership development needs for ASTHOís leadership programs.   
  • Support for consultant and vendor management, processing invoices and check requests for leadership development programs.
  • Provide logistical and technical support for in-person, hybrid and virtual leadership activities. 
  • Assist with QI and evaluation efforts for leadership activities.
  • Provide logistical support, scheduling and tracking for ASTHOís use of Boundary Spanning Leadership for the Strengthening Equity and Partnerships in State Public Health Response project.   
  • Support the delivery of leadership training workshops and professional development sessions for ASTHO staff and members.
  • Coordinate and support the Leadership team on the development, dissemination, and marketing of asynchronous leadership trainings in the ASTHO eLearning center.
  • Assist in writing progress reports and evaluating leadership project activities and outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorís Degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience required; Masterís preferred
  • Experience in state/local governmental public health highly preferred
  • At least 3 years progressive experience supporting leadership development programs
  • Organization skills to support multiple projects and deadlines
  • Working knowledge about peer networks, learning communities, or learning collaboratives.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work within a team, independently and follow directions to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Active Listening ó Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriate.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp systems and systems changes at state, local, or federal levels.
