Analyst, Performance Excellence

Department: PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE
Location: Arlington, VA

Summary: The Analyst, Performance Excellence will support the development and implementation of ASTHO’s organizational content strategy and capacity building/technical assistance (CB/TA) frameworks. The analyst will support the work of the Director, Performance Excellence in supporting and improving ASTHO’s performance and internal collaboration.

Principal Functions:

  • Monitor submissions into ASTHO’s CB/TA initiation processes and follow up with programmatic and functional teams as appropriate.
  • Support the development of ASTHO’s content strategy and maintain ASTHO’s organizational content calendar.
  • Lead activities related to tracking product development timelines and product alignment with ASTHO’s strategic priorities.
  • Support the development and adoption of standards around key ASTHO capacity building and technical assistance activities.
  • Support new staff orientations on CB/TA and processes for product and activity development.
  • Contribute to the development of a monthly CB/TA digest showcasing staff products and activities.
  • Support the development of quarterly reports on planned content.
  • Support efforts such as staff focus groups on capacity building/technical assistance needs
  • Build and develop relationships across ASTHO teams and serve as a resource for performance excellence across the organization.
  • Support staff use of quality/performance improvement system/tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency across ASTHO.
  • Collaborate across the Performance Excellence team to advance the team’s goals.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working for or with state/territorial or local health agencies, public health and/or membership associations preferred.
  • Ability to translate and disseminate information to various groups and audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work and communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues, partners, funders, and members.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively about complex systems, and exercise sound judgement in recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Comfort working independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Project management experience and/or knowledge of quality improvement preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel; basic knowledge of other relevant software preferred.
